Jim Coopersmith is married to Toni Coopersmith. They have five wonderful children and live in Johnson County, Kansas.

Experiences & Accomplishments

Born in Mount Vernon, New York
1962 Graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD
Served on active duty with Naval Aircraft Squadrons on both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts as a carrier aviator and test/evaluation pilot.

After leaving active duty in 1968 and affiliating with the Naval Air Reserves, enjoyed promotions and commands with eventual appointment to the rank of Captain, United States Navy as a Reserve Officer. He has served on numerous boards concerned with shaping military policy both foreign and domestic, before being posted to the Retired Reserve list in 1985. Civilian service included senior grade appointee to the Federal Energy office during the Fuel Crisis.

Additional educational experiences included graduate work at the University of Southern California as well as ongoing continuing education for the last 25 years in the areas of taxation, the law, accounting and finance.

He spent 28 years flying as a pilot for TWA, retiring in March of 1995 with his final landing at Lambert International Airport, St. Louis, MO. During this period of service, Jim flew as a pilot, instructed at the TWA Training Centers and represented the National Airline Pilots Association in the areas of insurance, benefits and retirement programs.

On joining Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, Jim Coopersmith formed an insurance business which he has headed-up for 30 years working with successful business men and women as well as professionals. He is licensed in numerous states for insurance and securities products. His industry recognitions include the National Quality Award, Health Insurance Quality Award, National Sales Achievement Award, Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table with Court of the Table achievement and membership in the International Forum.
